Obituary For Lloyd Alton Peacock

Lloyd Alton Peacock, September 18, 1962, passed away unexpectedly on September 3rd, 2023, after supplying equipment for the Old Timers Softball Game. This event was dear to him and gave him great pleasure. He died as he lived, helping his family, friends, and community.

Lloyd was a proud veteran serving as a Specialist 4 in the US Army in Europe and in the National Guard, earning the rank of Sergeant. He was also a Legion member.

Lloyd was president of the Orioles club, a nonprofit community organization but no one can say how many people he helped along his path.

Lloyd always paved his own way, in his own time. He was a strong believer in doing what was right and just. He was the owner of Peacock Construction for over 20 years. He was meticulous about details in his work. Many of his clients, and repeat customers, also became valued friends.

People who knew him enjoyed the hospitality of his home, as well as his quick and quirky sense of humor. They likely ended up playing horseshoes in what his family fondly referred to as the "Compound" Or, sometimes, inside games of Spoons, Cribbage, and especially the game of Aggravation.

Lloyd was passionate about smelt dipping, ice fishing, and hunting. He took pride using what game he harvested.

His innovation, loyalty, and dedication, combined with a heart of gold, earned him respect, clients and lifelong friends. However, he was always happiest with his family. No one could match his quietly generous soul. Lloyd recently hung a new sign that spoke to his passion for life. It reads: "We're not here for a long time, we're here for a good time.

Lloyd is survived by sons, Jason Peacock, Christopher Caskey; daughters, Kaitlin Farmer, and Michelle Veit; grandchildren, Jason Jr, Gabriel, Addison, Kamden, and Jordyn; brothers, Brian (Maryrose) Peacock, Roy Peacock; sisters, Sandra (Larry) Anderson and Kristine (Duane) White.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his sister, Fern Collinsworth and brother, Alan Peacock.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 11AM at Galer Funeral Homes in Pickford, Michigan, with the funeral service to follow at 1PM.
