Obituary For Lexi Marie Piche

Lexi Marie (TenEyck) Piche age 68, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away Monday, April 3, 2023, at Hospice House in Lecanto, FL surrounded by family and friends after a long 3-year battle with cancer. Lexi was born on May 28, 1954, in Mt. Clemens, MI to Ralph and Patricia (Pryor) TenEyck. She graduated Sault Area High School in 1972, where she had met her high school sweetheart, Paul Piche. They married June 1973 and would have celebrated 50-year wedding anniversary together this year. Lexi and Paul were soulmates and had a bond like no other.

Lexi was an amazing mother and best friend to her daughter Sandee (Zach) Strahan of Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Lexi and Sandee spent a lot of time together and had a relationship that most people could only dream about.

Lexi loved life and made the most of it. Lexi never let anything get her down or stop her from doing anything. Lexi was a little person with a huge heart. Even though she was small she could put the biggest man in his place. She used to say I am small but I am still taller than Amy Roloff (from the show Little People, Big World). She had many hobbies including sewing, bowling, fishing, hunting, camping, playing horseshoes and being with friends and family.

Lexi worked at Soo Township School as the Lunch Lady, where the kids all loved her. She also worked at the Apple Blossom Shop, Soo Automotive and eventually Lynn Auto Parts, where she retired with her husband Paul and they became snowbirds in Bushnell, FL.

Lexi was such a proud YaYa of 5 grandchildren. Brock LeLievre, Jordan LeLievre, Seamus Strahan, Caroline Strahan, and Catherine Strahan, all of whom she loved very much. If you asked her about them, out would come her phone to show you the latest pictures of them. The kids loved to show her that they were either taller than her or almost as tall.

Lexi was proceeded in death by her parents, mother-in-law Audrey (Brock ) Piche, father-in-law Alfred Olmstead, sibling James TenEyck, brother-in-law Leonard Piche, and nephew Shawn Rouse.

Lexi is survived by siblings, Larry TenEyck of Kentucky, Robert (Jane) TenEyck of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Penny (Dan Pomranky) Rouse of Rudyard, MI, Toni Johnston of Sault Ste. Marie, MI and Wendy Glenn of Sault Ste, Marie, MI

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to Hospice House of the EUP.

A celebration of life will be announced on a later date.
