Obituaries

Kevin James Gordon of Ellsworth, Michigan, died on August 14, 2023, at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey, Michigan, at the age of 57. He was born on January 11, 1966, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to parents Warren G. and Beverly M. (Fike) Gordon.

Kevin grew up in Brimley, Michigan, where he graduated with the class of 1985. Following graduation, he moved to East Jordon, Michigan, to pursue a lifelong career in construction.

Kevin was an active outdoorsman and could often be found hunting, fishing, and kayaking. He enjoyed racing tractors and taking part in mud runs. He was a part of the Jordon Valley Racing team in East Jordon. People that he knew, he left a lifelong mark. He made you laugh with his jokes and sassy ways. He will be greatly missed.

Kevin is survived by his girlfriend, Shirley Hanson; siblings, Bobby Gordon of Brimley, Donny Gordon of Sault Ste. Marie, Cheryl (Ron) Deneve of Pickford, Michigan, and Karen (Kevin) Denker of Brimley; nephews, Nathan Savro, and Jason Jarrard; as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Beverly; grandparents, Robert and Ethal Gordon and Joseph and Leina Fike; and his sister, Beverly Gordon.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 3 PM – 6 PM at the Brimley VFW, 8968 M-28, Brimley, MI 49715.
