Obituaries

John Henry Beamish, age 96, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, passed away on May 11, 2023, at Medlodge- Sault.

John was born on March 15, 1927, in Donaldson, MI to the late William and Letitia (Lundy) Beamish. John was a graduate of Pickford High School with the class of 1945. John served his country in the United States Army, during WWII and was station at the Nuremberg Trials at the conclusion of the war. On October 9, 1948, he married Pearl Crimin. John worked many years as a bulk milk truck driver. He enjoyed joking around and had a great sense of humor. John was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and farming. John also enjoyed listening to music, and making maple syrup in the spring. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.

John is survived by his children: Bill (Bonnie) Beamish of Sault Ste. Marie, MI, Peggy (Ken) Sherman of Brimley, MI, and Patti (Dion) Kuczewski of Rapid River, MI; seven grandchildren: Stan, Ryan, Mike (Namoi) Lindsey, JC (Jeanine), Aaron, and Samara; and 9 great-grandchildren: Hadley, Sophia, Madison, Armor, Devon, Mason, Harper, Connor, and Easton. John is also survived by one sister: Clara (Tom) Johndrow.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife: Pearl (Crimin) Beamish; his son: John Beamish; his granddaughter: Michelle Sherman; siblings: Wilmar Beamish, Alvin Beamish, Elma Rubin, Wallace Beamish, George Beamish, Ethel Cottle, Earl Beamish, Ida Cartwright, Robert Beamish, and Freda Osborn.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, May 20, 2023, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home with Pastor David Henderson officiating. Friends may gather, that same day, from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the Michelle Sherman Memorial Scholarship or the Donaldson Presbyterian Church.
