Jacob Daniel Sibbald, age 23, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on August 9, 2025. He was born on August 29, 2001, in Sault Ste. Marie, to John and Kimberly (Rushford) Sibbald.

Jacob grew up in Sault Ste. Marie and attended Sault Area Schools and Malcolm High School. He began his career in construction with McGahey Construction and later worked for Maleport Construction and then K B Builders before joining and currently working for Nelson Construction.

Jacob had a deep love for his dogs, Reign, Mika, & Crete. With passion for sports, he played basketball and football in his youth and was a devoted Detroit Lions fan. He enjoyed friendly Madden competitions with his friends when he was younger and treasured time spent out on the water with the boys, whether soaking up the sun or fishing for the day’s catch. Music was always a part of his life, and he could often be found with a song playing in the background. Among his greatest joys was being an uncle; he adored his nieces and nephews and embraced the role with boundless love and enthusiasm.

Jacob is survived by his parents, John and Kimberly; brothers, John Sibbald and Josh (Kylie) Sibbald; grandparents, Wilma Rushford, Susan (Eric) Ayers, Mike (Melody) Sibbald; great-grandparents, Margaret Sibbald and Carl Avery; and many dearly beloved aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Jacob was preceded in death by his grandfather, Harold Rushford; great-grandparents, Norman and Peggy Cardinal, Beverly Avery, and Gary Sibbald.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, from 12:00 Noon – 3:00 PM, at the U.P. Revival Center, 66 Cedar Grove Dr. Kincheloe, MI 49788. The Funeral Service will follow at 3:00 PM.
