Obituary For Henry Michael Jarvie III

Henry Michael Jarvie III., age 86, of Rudyard, Michigan, died surrounded by his loving family, on October 10, 2023. He was born in Rudyard on May 25, 1937, to Henry Michael II. and Edith Mabel (Cartwright) Jarvie.

Henry was raised in Rudyard and attended Rudyard High School, playing football and baseball. He graduated with the class of 1955, and after graduating, he worked in administration at United Airlines. He went on a blind date with Clara “Jo” Josephine Payne and after three months of dating, they married on November 1, 1958, at the Westside Methodist Church in Ann Arbor, Michigan. They made their home in Ypsilanti, Michigan, for twenty-seven years. After retiring from United Airlines in 1992, they moved back to Rudyard where they built a home on the family farm, and Henry worked as a school bus driver for the Rudyard Area Schools for the next eight years.

Henry was a member of the Rudyard Presbyterian Church.

Henry was an avid golfer and prided himself in getting a hole in one. He always had a song in his heart and filled the room with his whistling.

Henry is survived by his sons, Henry Michael (Conna) Jarvie IV. of Ypsilanti and Jeffrey Jarvie of Milan, Michigan; daughter, Jennifer (Ric) Howton of Whitmore Lake, Michigan; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Jarvie of Madison, Wisconsin; sisters, Paulette (Eugene) Ross of Rudyard and Prudence (Jim) Allen of Rudyard; sister in -law's Patsy Jarvie of Ludington, Michigan; Elizabeth Whiting of Ann Arbor, Michigan, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Edith; brother Otis Jarvie; wife, Clara Jo.

Final Resting Place will be at the Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
