Obituaries

Gerald “Gerry” Fredrick LaLonde, age 73, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on December 21, 2025, at his home. He was born on January 5, 1952, in Sault Ste. Marie, to Phil and Helen (Rothwell) LaLonde.

Gerry grew up in Sault Ste. Marie where he graduated from Sault Area High School. After high school, Gerry proudly served in the United States Navy for four years. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and coin collecting.

Gerry is survived by his siblings, Tom LaLonde of Sault Ste. Marie, Jean (Darrell) Dettmann of Marquette, Michigan, Mary Jackman of Sault Ste. Marie, David (Leanne) LaLonde of Parma, Ohio and Cris (Don Brown) Dawson of Sault Ste. Marie.

Gerry is preceded in death by his parents, Phil and Helen LaLonde; baby sister, Frances Helen; and sister, Carole Mitchell.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the summer of 2026.
