Genevieve Phyllis (Hill) Chartier, age 98, of Manistique, Michigan, died at the Medilodge of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on February 4, 2023. She was born in Gladstone, Michigan, on April 28, 1924, daughter of the late, William and Beatrice (Bates) Hill.

Genevieve attended the Manistique schools and on October 8, 1943, she married Joseph George Chartier in Seattle, Washington, where he was stationed in the Nazy. She was a homemaker and enjoyed knitting, walking, and spending time with her four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Genevieve was a member of the First Baptist Church in Manistique.

Genevieve is survived by her grandchildren, Christina (Gary) Knutsen of Dafter, Michigan, Robert (Jackie) Landis of Sault Ste. Marie, Julie (Brian) Heine of Coloma, Michigan, and Jamie (Mohammed) Tamim of Boca Raton, Florida; and great-grandchildren, Mackenzie, Robbie, Lexie, Shaiden, Sami, and Luna.

Genevieve is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Chartier; parents, William and Beatrice Hill; daughters, Carla Bonner, Connie Kryzanski, and Patricia Landis; sister, Ruth Lynts; brother, Leonard Arrowood; son-in-law, Allan Landis, and stepfather, Ralph Arrowood.

There will be a Graveside Service in the Spring of 2023. The time and date will be announced later.
