Obituary For Francis Talentino
Francis “Frank” Talentino, age 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Sault Ste. Marie,
Michigan, on June 7, 2025. He was born on April 29, 1931, in Sault Ste. Marie to the late Joseph
and Mary (Cerra) Talentino.
Francis was a lifelong resident of Sault Ste. Marie, where he grew up and graduated from high
school. He dedicated his life to hard work, community involvement, and family. He worked for
Cloverland Electric Cooperative for 46 years, where he earned the respect of colleagues and
community members alike. After his retirement, he continued to serve by contributing his
leadership as a member of Cloverland’s Board of Directors for twelve years.
Francis was a proud member of the Christopher Columbus Hall and the Elks Lodge #552. He
had a deep passion for gardening and took great pride in tending to his flowers and vegetables.
An avid Red Wings hockey fan, Francis also enjoyed carpentry and woodworking, often building
items for his home and loved ones.
Francis is survived by his loving children; Howard (Teri) Talentino of Texas, Linda (Timothy)
Hoath, Terry (Denise) Talentino, Debra Sherman of Sault Ste. Marie, and Troy Talentino of
Kalkaska, Michigan. He also leaves behind many cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren,
great-great grandchildren and his McDonald’s buddies for coffee hour.
Francis was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Frances; grandsons, Scott Brazil and
Christopher Talentino; granddaughters, Tina Marie and Amanda Kaye Talentino; son-in-law,
Michael John Sherman; his parents, Joseph and Mary (Dino) Talentino; nine siblings; and a
special family friend, Christina Parr.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on Monday, June 16, 2025, at the Christopher Columbus
Hall, 201 Sheridan Dr., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by
the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM. A luncheon will be served immediately after.
Francis’s final resting place will be at Oaklawn Chapel Gardens in Bruce Township, Michigan.
Memorial contributions in his honor may be made to North Woods Hospice, 226 S. Cedar St.,
Manistique, MI 49854.
