Floralee Marie (Hansen) Barton, age 83, died on Friday, April 10, 2026, at her home. She was born on September 4, 1942, in Wyandotte, Michigan, to Olaf and Waverly (Edwards) Hanson.

Floralee attended school in Wyandotte and graduated from high school in Pennsylvania. She also completed some college coursework. In May 1964, she married Clifford Shaw, and they remained together until his passing in 1976. Later, Floralee moved to Horton, Kansas, where she met Leroy Barton. The two were married in May 1980 and shared many happy years together until Leroy’s passing in 2025. Throughout her life, Floralee lived and worked in Horton, Topeka, Emporia, and Wichita, Kansas. She dedicated much of her career to caring for others, working in retail and in nursing homes as a nurse aide, medication aide, and Human Resource Director. After retiring in 2008, Floralee returned home to be closer to her family.

Floralee is survived by her daughter, Michelle (Randy) Edwardson; son, Pete Shaw; daughter, Tracey (Paul) Shaw; son, Jim (Andrea) Shaw; daughter, Kelly Weixeldorfer; grandchildren, Sean (Erica) Edwardson, Adam (Trista) Edwardson, Jacob (Amanda) Edwardson, Raymond Shaw, Chelsea Shaw, Corey Shaw, Haley Shaw, Ethan (Sherri) Shaw, Joseph Shaw, Christian Shaw, Catherine Shaw Burns, Jace Lyons, Tanner Myers and Andrew Bradley; great-grandchildren, Ellis, Kassius, Braxton, Sean, Adam, Jasper, Wesley, Krysti, Drake, Leila, Cameron, Makaelah, Trinity, Landyn, Declan and Raelyn.

Floralee was preceded in death by husbands, Clifford Shaw and Leroy Barton; daughter, Melissa Shaw; son, John Shaw; great-grandson, Kamien Edwardson; parents, Olaf & Waverly; grandparents, John and Flors Rivette; in-laws, Bernard and Catherine Shaw and Verna Barton; brother-in-law, Al Barton; sisters-in-law, Pat Easton and Christine Shaw; and nephew, Anthony Easton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association in memory of her great-grandson, Kamien Edwardson.
