Doris Kathleen (Eveleigh) Poirier, age 96, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on October 22, 2025, at Hearthside Assisted Living with her family by her side. She was born on January 26, 1929, in Pickford, Michigan, to Vern and Virgilia (Crawford) Eveleigh.

Kathleen grew up in Pickford and graduated from Pickford High School with the Class of 1947. That same year, in December, she married Norris Olen Poirier, and together they began their family. Throughout the years, they moved to various places while Norris worked on the road before eventually settling back in Pickford.

Kathleen was a devoted member of the Fundamental Baptist Church.

Kathleen’s greatest joy was caring for her family. She and Norris cherished their time together and spent many winters in Florida. More than anything, Kathleen adored her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was endlessly proud of each of them and loved to share their stories and accomplishments with others. Her face would light up whenever she talked about them, and her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by her family.

Kathleen is survived by son, Michael Norris (Julie) Poirier; daughter, Sheri (Ron Stebleton) Poirier; grandchildren, Dareth (Adam) Gilmore, Daraka (Matt) Hudecek, Walter (Erin) Poirier, Kathryn Poirier and Marshall (Rebekah) Poirier); great-grandchildren, Finley Kathleen Hudecek, Cael Gilmore, Emmy Hudecek, Joey Hudecek, Brielle Gilmore, Ciaran Gilmore, Sylas Poirier, Ariella McCoy-Hudecek, Chesney Poirier, Arthur McCoy-Hudecek and Lucas Poirier; and sister, Donna (Jim) Stevenson.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, Norris in 2017; parents, Vern and Virgilia; brother, Robert (Edna) Eveleigh and three nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fundamental Baptist Church, 3255 M-80, Kinross Township, MI 49752. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, with burial immediately afterward at Fairview Cemetery in Pickford.
