David “Charlie” Charles Nicholas, age 64, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on September 16, 2025, at his home. He was born on May 23, 1961, in Lansing, Michigan, to Patricia Elizabeth (Nicholas) Cobb.

Charlie grew up in Lansing and was known for his generous spirit and quirky sense of humor. He had a passion for rock music and enjoyed spending time
outdoors—whether it was fishing, camping, or simply soaking in nature. An amateur bowler and lifelong car enthusiast, Charlie especially loved attending car shows, a tradition he shared with his son, David, who fondly remembers those times together. His warmth, kindness, and love for life left a lasting impression on all who knew him.

Charlie is survived by his son, David Laux of Kincheloe, Michigan; step-daughters, Shyla (Troy)
Shimmons of Kincheloe, Michigan and Shauna Bebee of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Lawrence Janis; siblings, Linda Cobb of Lansing, Marjorie (Nicholas) Poston of Lansing, and Jeffrey Cobb.

Charlie was preceded in death by his significant other, Kathy Louise Brown; and his mother,
Patricia Cobb.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Family Life
Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. The Funeral Service will follow at 4:00 PM.
