D’Anne “Dee” Myree (Sweet) Ackley, age 83, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on May 28, 2023, at the Pennington Home in Pickford, Michigan. Dee was born on July 4, 1939, in Lansing, Michigan, to James Marple and Marguerite Marie (Bearinger) Sweet.

Dee grew up in the Lansing area and graduated from her local high school. She quickly entered the workforce and met the father of her two children, Jamie & Donnae. During this time, she was working as a dispatcher for highway transportation. She moved to the Upper Peninsula in 1992 and settled on Sugar Island, Michigan, after retirement.

Dee was a member of the Haulers.

Dee enjoyed bingo nights & trying her luck gambling. She enjoyed a good Budweiser while watching NASCAR and supporting her favorite drivers, Kyle Busch & Dale Earnhardt Jr. During quiet evenings, she also enjoyed crocheting. In her younger years, she was an avid motorcyclist and loved to get out and ride.

Dee is survived by her daughter, Jamie (John) Selby of Mason, Michigan; grandchildren, Randee (Adam) Noggle, Donald Agler, Ryan Agler, Ronald Marcus, & April Marcus; great-grandchildren, Ryker, Rylee, Finley, Kole, and Rowan.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Donnae Agler.

Per Dee’s wishes, cremation will take place.
