Dale Burton Lewis, 88, of Sault Ste. Marie, MI passed away March 13, 2023 at Hospice House in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. He was born June 4, 1934 in Yellville, Arkansas to George Owen Lewis and Florence Lewis (Hand).

Dale and his wonderful wife Adeline were married for 67 years and had four children.

Dale joined the Army at the age of 19 and was a Sergeant in the Korean War. He retired from the Army National Guard Reserve's in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Dale continued to work many jobs after being retired. He worked as a mechanic for the city of Sault Ste. Marie and drove bus for Indian trails, community action, and dial a ride. He was also a volunteer DAV driver bringing veterans to appointments. Dale enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially with his son James and brother-in-law James. Dale will be truly missed by his entire family.
Dale is survived by his children, James Edward Lewis, Michael Leroy Lewis, and Mary Elizabeth Kallio (Lewis); brother, Keith Lewis; grandchildren, Nickolas Lewis, Holly (Kyle) Fahler (Lewis), Ryan (Jordan) Lewis, Dustin (Gryson) Lewis, Darren Kallio, Amber Kallio, Kristine Kallio, and Rachel Kallio; great grandchildren, Avelyn Kallio, Dylan Menard, Jayce Goforth, Domarion Kallio, Kamiyah Kallio (Smith), Pepper Fahler, Rylee Fahler, Wendy Lewis, and Robert Lewis. Dale's grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews brought him great joy in his life.

Dale is predeceased by his wife, Adeline Lewis (Jabour); parents; brothers, Walter Lewis and Eugene Lewis; sister, Eska Geneece Grantz; and daughter, Patricia Ann Lewis.

There will be a Memorial Service for Dale and Adeline Lewis with visitation starting Wednesday June 14, 2023 at 10:00am until the time of the service at 11:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1101 Minneapolis St. Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783, with Father Romeo Cappella officiating. Final resting place will be Riverside Cemetery in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Military Honor Guard will take place at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial contributions be made in Dale and Adeline's name to Hospice House of the EUP, 308 W. 12th Ave. Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783. Clark Hovie Galer Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
