Clair Doris “Memaw” Knight, age 89, of Kincheloe, MI passed away on December 19, 2022, at My Michigan Medical Center – Sault.

C. Doris was born on December 18, 1933, in Hazard KY to Astor & Oma McIntosh. She worked as a PBX Operator. She enjoyed feeding turkeys out of her hand, feeding the deer, and watching freighters (the shippy-do’s) go by on Neebish Island. She also enjoyed making fudge and friendship cakes, berry picking, and snowmobiling. If you had a nickname, you were a friend for life. She loved her family. She was known as the Bam Lady at the Casino’s. She was a member of the Women’s group on Neebish Island and quilted with them weekly in the wintertime.

C. Doris is survived by her children: Douglas (Sarah) Knight, D. Lynn Knight, Darlene (Emmett) Knight Slone; grandchildren: Mark (Jade) Sorenson, Brandon J.W. Knight, Brittney Knight, and Kyle (Cassi) Slone; great-grandchildren: Kyler, Kyra, Jordan, Aiden, Ian, and Maggie Sorenson, Jayden and James Nelson, Donnie and Leon, Teddy, James, Star and Lorne, Jack, Baby. C. Doris is also survived by her brother: Duke (Vickie) McIntosh and 18 nieces and nephews.

C. Doris was preceded in death by her parents Oma & Fritz Hage, her husband: Harry J. Knight Jr.; brother: Burt Bowling; sister: Peggy Haynes, and two children: Harry J. Knight, III and Marlene Knight.

Cremation has taken place. Services will be held in the spring.
