Obituaries

Cindy Marie Parker, age 49, of Brimley, Michigan, died on August 9, 2025, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She was born on September 3, 1975, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Harry and Armella (LeBlanc) Parker.

After graduating from Brimley High School, Cindy began her career at Bay Mills Casino. Starting as a coin pusher, her dedication, strong work ethic, and leadership skills led her to advance over her 28-year career to shift manager and eventually to a position in the compliance department.

A proud member of the Bay Mills Tribe, Cindy was known for her warm heart and her deep love of animals. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, a game she had a love/hate relationship with, camping, and relaxing by a fire, and she never missed a chance to cheer on her beloved Dallas Cowboys.

Cindy is survived by her spouse, Ruth Schofield; brothers, Jeff (Judy) Parker of Gaylord, Michigan, and Greg Parker of Bay Mills, Michigan; sister, Phyllis (Tim) Kinney of Bay Mills; mother-in-law, Donelda Schofield; sister-in-law, Sherri Schofield of Bay Mills; brother-in-law, Bill Schofield of Bay Mills; nieces and nephews, Timothy G. (Brenda) Kinney II, Natalie Barnes, Kimmi (Tim) Walden, Jason (Andrea) Parker, Dani Jo Schofield, and Kaitlynn (Eli) Leach; as well as many great-nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Armella; and great-nephew, Gregory Kinney.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Family Life Funeral Homes, 4951 S. M-129, Sault Ste. Marie, 49783. The Memorial Service will begin at 1:00 PM.

Cindy’s final resting place will be at Mission Hill Cemetery, in Brimley, Michigan.

Memorial contributions may be made in Cindy’s honor to the Chippewa County Animal Shelter, 3660 S. Mackinac Trail, Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783.
