Charles was deeply involved with the Special Olympics, where he earned numerous medals and trophies. Bowling was one of his favorite events, and he took great pride in participating. He was also a fan of classic television, especially The Dukes of Hazzard. A highlight of his life was meeting the cast at an auto show and receiving their autographs. He also enjoyed watching The Andy Griffith Show. Charles had many passions. He loved biking, camping, traveling, going to auto and truck shows, shopping, and caring for farm animals. He also enjoyed the quiet challenge of putting together puzzles. He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, his dedication to his community, and the love he shared with those around him.

Charles is survived by his siblings, Darlene (Gary “Pete”) Heckman of Moran, Michigan, Clifford Boggs Jr. of Escanaba, Michigan, Roger Boggs of Texas, Elizabeth Smith of West Olive, Michigan, and Shirley (Don) Swenson of Cocoa Beach, Florida; as well as many nieces and nephews.
