Carl Lynn Dosenbach, age 86, of Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, died on August 10, 2025, at MyMichigan Medical Center – Sault. He was born on March 31, 1939, in Detroit, Michigan, to Richard and Elsie (Wills) Dosenbach.

Carl lived in Detroit until the age of eight, when his family moved to Pickford, Michigan, and purchased a farm. He graduated from Pickford High School with the Class of 1957 and went on to complete a five-year building trades apprenticeship. Over the years, Carl worked in a variety of industries, including General Motors, the paper mill in Escanaba, Michigan, the Air Force Base in Kincheloe, Michigan, Paper Printer in Wisconsin, and the Sault Locks, where he spent two years fitting pipes. On September 28, 1957, Carl married Dorothy Patricia “Patsy” Westover at the Pickford Presbyterian Church. They began their life together in Marquette, Michigan, where Carl worked on the boilers at the coal mines before continuing his career in skilled trades.

Carl was a proud member of the Masons, United Association of Escanaba Local #111, an Elder at Donaldson Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Marquette Shriners Association.

An avid outdoorsman, Carl enjoyed traveling with Patsy, fishing in Canada and on Munuscong Bay, snowmobiling, boating, hunting, and trapping.

Carl is survived by his daughters, Pam (Gary) Chilva, Carla (Ernie) Grenier, Cindy Moniz, and Sandy (Tony) Budzinski; grandchildren, Jessica (Nicholas) Flood, Jeremy (Stacy) Moniz, Jenelle (Spencer) Philip, Alaina (Justin) Rabineau, Tyler Budzinski, and Sarah Budzinski; great-grandchildren, Samuel Flood, Evan Moniz and Adelynn Moniz; sister, Linda Morrison; sisters-in-law, Linda Westover and Laurie Payment; sister-in-law, Heike Westover; brother-in-law, John Bjunes; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy; son, Jack; parents, Richard and Elsie; brothers-in-law, William Payment, Ron Westover, Rick Westover and Lyle Morrison; sisters-in-law, Judy Herrmann, Joan (Bill) Henderson, Janet (Hank) Szczepanksi and Wendy Bjunes; and son-in-law, Joseph Moniz.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Family Life Funeral Homes, 24549 S. M-129 Pickford, MI 49774, from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM. The Funeral Service will follow immediately at 12:30 PM.

Carl’s final resting place will be at Cottle Cemetery in Marquette Township, Michigan.
