Brenda "Nin" Sue (Hossack) Smith, age 72, of Cedarville, Michigan, died at MyMichigan Health Center in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, on June 2, 2023. She was born in Sault Ste. Marie on July 28, 1950, to William H. and Mary Jane (Haines) Hossack.

Brenda grew up in Cedarville and graduated from Cedarville High School. While attending high school, she worked as a babysitter and met Robert Lyle Smith. They married on April 19, 1969, and they began raising their family. In 1975, she began her own residential and commercial cleaning business and successfully ran the business for almost 50 years.

Brenda was a member of the First Union Church in Cedarville.

Brenda loved playing cards like Solitaire, Euchre, and Phase 10. She enjoyed cooking, knitting, creating flower baskets, and watching her hummingbirds. She loved being with her family, traveling to visit her family, spending time with her grandkids on the beach, and she raised three great Children.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Nicole Smith of Cedarville; sons, Todd (Shari) Smith of Marquette, Michigan, and Patrick (Stacy) Smith of Richland, Michigan; grandchildren, Tayler (Jesse McGovern) Smith, Trevor (Lauren) Smith, Kyle Smith, Evangeline Smith, and Ryan Smith; sister, Marilyn (Michael) Sweeney of Cedarville; and one great-grandchild expected in January.

Brenda was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith; and her parents, William and Mary Jane.

Visitation will be held on June 8, 2023, from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. at Galer Funeral Homes, in Pickford, Michigan. The Funeral Service will follow at 1:30 P.M.

A Private Family Burial will be held.
