Beverly was born on August 5, 1938, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. She attended school in Strongs, Michigan, until she was in 8th grade. She then attended Brimley High school where she was a cheerleader, played the flute in the marching band, and won the coveted spot as homecoming queen. She was very proud of having graduated high school early at just 16 years old. During her time at Brimley High School, she met her future husband, William “Bill” Kinsella Jr. and they married on December 22, 1955, and would be married for 67 years before her passing. The two traveled together during Bill’s time in the Navy with their children and lived in Key West, Fl and Norfolk, Va prior to settling to raise their five children in Belleville, Michigan. Bev worked outside of the home as an accountant for H&R Block as well as for Ford Motor Company.

Bev enjoyed homemaking and would spend late summers canning the harvest from Bill’s summer garden, namely her famous grape jam. Bev was well-known for her love of crafting and would go on to paint many beautiful landscapes as well as teach a local oil painting class. If she was aware of a new baby, she made certain to sew several blankets whether children in the community or her grandchildren or great-grandchildren.

Bev served on the board of review for Superior Township where she was involved in making pivotal decisions about the local infrastructure/tax revenue. She enjoyed her time at Brimley Congregational Church where she would meet life-long friends (Gwen Holdsworth, Ronda Johnson, Gene Schrader, Sherry Bertram, Lynn Gillies, and Betty Stahl to name a few very special women in her life). She was also involved with Living Word Church/Soo Christian Fellowship in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan where she would volunteer making meals for Vacation Bible School for all the children as well as a teach Sunday school. In her later years, she could be found caring for her grandchildren/great-grandchildren. It was often a joke that she was a “taxi” bringing them to after school sporting events, jobs, or even to and from sleepovers with friends. Her home served as a base for holidays, family events, meals, and so much laughter—where no one went hungry or left without a hug. Her Cuban pup, Audrey served as her faithful companion in her last days.

Special thanks to Cindy Sullivan, Pennington House and EUP Hospice (Marcia Woods) who helped keep Bev comfortable in her last days.

Memorial Service will be at Soo Christian Fellowship with Pastor Scout Hester officiating on Saturday September 23, 2023, with viewing from 11am till 1pm and the funeral service to follow at 1pm.
