Avis Alma Alcorn, passed away on December 22, 2022, one day after her 94th birthday.

She was a graduate of Superior High School with the class of 1947, which is now Brimley High School. She married in 1947 to Orvan Alcorn, they were married for 56 years.

Avis continued in Brimley, volunteering for the Brimley Ambulance Squad. Then working in Brimley School system for over 25 years and retired after wearing many hats, such as custodian, bus driver, secretary assistant, and school aid.

She loved kids, especially her six grand kids and 17 great grand kids. Avis later became a certified babysitter, so she could care for more.

Avis was preceded in death by her parents, two daughters, and husband.

Avis is survived by three children: Lawrence (Paula) Alcorn of Oxford, MI, Jeffery (Theresa) Alcorn of Brimley, MI, and Karen (Richard) Ladd of Athelstane, WI.

Funeral serves will be held at 11:00 Am on January 14, at C.S. Mulder Funeral Home on M-129 and 5 Mile Road, Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Friends may gather from 10:00 am until the time of service.

A graveside memorial service is planned for June of 2023, times will be announced later.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be left to War Memorial Long Term Care.
