Obituary For Anita Louise Charles

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anita Louise (Lyons) Charles, who passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 68, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, surrounded by her loved ones and her beloved husband, Donald Charles Sr. Anita was born on October 8, 1957, in Sault Ste. Marie, to the late James and Audrey (LeBlanc) Lyons of Brimley, Michigan. She lived a life defined by love, compassion, and devotion to those she held close.

Anita shared a beautiful marriage with her beloved husband, Donald. Their relationship was built on deep love, mutual respect, laughter, and unwavering support. They cherished one another every day, bringing joy, comfort, and warmth into each other’s lives. Their bond was steady and enduring, a true testament to a life shared in love.

Anita will be remembered for her gentle heart, her love of playing BUNKO with her extended family, and her competitive spirit during lively games of Yahtzee. She enjoyed long visits over a cup of coffee and had a natural way of making others feel welcomed and valued. Her kindness, patience, and generosity left a lasting impact on those around her.

She was a devoted wife, a loving mother, a proud grandmother, a caring sister and aunt, and a treasured friend. Her family meant everything to her, and she gave of herself fully and selflessly.

Anita is survived by her husband, Donald Charles Sr.; her children, Steven Lyons, Jennifer (Randy) Touchtone, Anthony Hole, Heather Lyons, Melissa Lyons, Olive (Steven) Massey, and Donald Charles Jr.; sisters, Kathi Carrick, Dawn (David) Terrell, Melanie Lyons, and Michele LeBlanc; brother, Walter (Bobbi) Lyons; in-laws, Cathy Charles, Christine Farrish, Darlene Clemenshaw Farrish, Shirley (Tom) Hole, Hank (Glenda) Williams, Robert (Joyce) Farrish, William (Donna) Wesenick, and Margaret Farrish; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and many dear friends and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Audrey; her siblings, Marilyn (Larry) Yon, James Lyons Jr., Denise LeBlanc, Gerri LeBlanc, and Lawrence Lyons; her brothers-in-law, Nelson Farrish, Roger Charles Sr., and Michael Carrick Sr.; and her beloved granddaughter, Skye Marie Link.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM, at the Brimley Baptist Church, 7480 M-221, Brimley, MI, 49715, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM.

Anita will be laid to rest at Mission Hill Cemetery in Brimley, Michigan.

Anita (Weezy’s) legacy lives on through the love she shared, the family she nurtured, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, laughter, and unwavering care. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
