MACKINAC COUNTY, MI. The Michigan State Police (MSP) St. Ignace Post has announced the discovery of a deceased individual who had been previously reported missing. On 10/31/2024 at approximately 6:45 p.m., MSP St. Ignace Troopers responded to a report that a 59-year-old man from Westland, MI had walked away from a residence he had been staying at in Brevort Township, and he was now missing. The subject had been reportedly suffering from dementia.
Despite extensive search efforts, the subject was later found deceased on 11/01/2024. The cause of death is currently under investigation, but there is no indication of foul play at this time.
